Bohemian Guitar Duo (CZ)

This newly formed music group consists of two guitarists: Denisa Schneebaumová and Aleš Trnka.

Denisa Schneebaumová studied at the Brno conservatory (under Professor Vladislav Bláha) and at the prestigious music college Mozarteum in Salzburg (under Professor Maria Isabel Siewers from Argentina). She made it to the final in the guitar competition in Plovdid, where she was awarded a special prize by the jury. She perfected her guitar playing in master courses taught by world-renowned guitarists and pedagogues (e.g. P. Romero, A. Carlevaro, G. Grosskey, C. Marchioni, M. Kato, P. Steidl and others). She performs both solo and in various chamber ensembles (e.g. České kytarové kvarteto, Bohemian Guitar Duo) and as a guest with orchestras in the Czech Republic, Germany, Egypt, Bulgaria and Austria. She contributed to various recordings. Since 2005 she has been performing alongside the Czech guitar legend, Jiří Jirmal (Jiří Jirmal quartet).

Aleš Trnka also graduated from the Brno conservatory and then from the music college in Freiburg (under Professor Sonja Prunnbauer). He further deepened his knowledge at master courses by J. W. Duarte, C. Grosskey, J. Rost, J. Jirmal and others. He was a founding member of the successful Freiburg guitar quartet. Currently he performs in the Bohemian Guitar Duo and Český kytarový kvartet. As a soloist and as a guest with chamber ensembles he has performed in the Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands and Mexico. He has recorded a number of CDs.
