Singer Eva Pilarová has become a phenomenon of the Czech Music scene. Although a native of Brno, has spent his entire career life in Prague.In 1960 she left Brno and got into the Prague theater Semaphore, where she performed, among others, also with the legendary pair Jiří Suchý and Jiří Šlitr and where he soon established herself as an excellent singer. During her long singing career sang many famous hits, very popular were for example her duets with Waldemar Matuska or Karel Gott. At the time of normalization in 1970ies Pilarová was not one of the favorites of the totalitarian regime and was not allowed to concert abroad. It is a singer blessed with a very beautiful, strong and color voice – the soprano range of three octaves with an excellent singing technique. With the passing years she focuses primarily on the region genre jazz and swing. It is still a great singer, although the top of her career falls to 1960ies and 1970ies. Now she is one of the singing legends with unquestionably one of the best voices in Czech music history ever. Shealso appeared in several famous Czech movies, for example If a Thousand of Clarinets or A Crime in the Cabaret (1967). She won three Golden Nightingales (a very important Czech music award), Gold Lyre in Bratislava and the Grand Prix in Sopot. In 2009 she received from the President of the Czech Republic Medal for Merit of first instance to the state in culture. Currently she is performing mainly accompanied by an excellent jazz band composed of the bassist Vít Fiala, pianist Milan Dvořák, saxophonist and clarinetist Miloš Bílek and percussionist Ivan Dominák. In 2010, celebrated this phenomenal singer 50 years of performing at the Czech and world stages (1960-2010). Ageless Pilarová knows how to reach the widest audience: invites to cooperation her younger colleagues and sings with them her famous hits or duets that originally recorded with Waldemar Matuška or Karel Gott. The Christmas Gala Concert will also be a kind of
tribute to this important Artist. During the evening should pay tribute to her opera singer Milan Bürger, popular young singers Matěj Ruppert or Vojta Dyk, children's choir Sedmihlásek and many others.
