Vicente Amigo Girol, born in 1967 in Guadalcanal (Sevilla), grew up and lives in Cordoba.
Playing the guitar since the age of five, his first teachers were El Tomate, El Merengue de Cordoba and then Manolo Sanlúcar, with whom worked for ten years. Amigo began his career as a rhythm guitarist and of the singer El Pelé and in he 1988 he started to play as a solo guitarist. In that year he won his first prize in the prestigious Concurso
Internacional de Guitarra Flamenca followed by many other awards. In 1991 he released his first album, De mi corazón al aire, the with compositions dedicated to his teachers and patterns. In 1992 meets at the same stage with Paco de Lucia at a gala concert Leyendas de la guitarra in Seville, on the eve of the world Expo 92. Also in 1992, together with Leo Brouwer, he composed and performed the Concierto Para un Marinero en Tierra, as a tribute to Rafael Alberti. Part of this work then appeared on his album Poeta (1997) for which he received awards in categories The best Flamenco artist and The best flamenco songwriter. The album Vivencias Imaginadas (1995) was highly prized by both audiences and critics. Amigo worked on albums of Miguel Bosé, Remedios Amaya, Carmen Linares, Manolo Sanlúcar, Wagner Tiso, Rosario and others. Among the most important belongs his collaboration with the singer Jose Mercé on the album Del Amanecer (1998) and that with El Pelé on album Canto (2003). On both of them participated as an author, and both belong to the best of what in flamenco originated. Invited him to collaborate also stars such as David Bowie, Sting, Bob Dylan, John McLaughlin, Stanley Jordan, Al Di Meola, Paco de Lucía and many others. Album Ciudad de las Ideas (2001) obtained Latin Grammy award for the best instrumental album of the year. On his latest album, Paseo de Gracia (2009), presents Amigo himself as a mature guitarist and author.
Vicente Amigo is currently one of the best flamenco guitarists. Many consider Amigo to be a successor of Paco de Lucía, Vicente but, himself a great admirer of Paco, says: "Paco de Lucía nobody can replace."

At Hybernia Theatre Amigo is going to perform together with his group and a dancer.
